Death By Acronym

I have been a 25 year educator.  13 years in the classroom in Elementary Schools and 12 years in my current role as a technology integrator.  I have worked in many schools and collaborated with Educators and Administrators alike.   But this blog ultimately is for parents and community members.  Educational jargon and acronyms are constantly being pushed out primarily through the state and then to the community schools.  In years past it was the School Board that made powerful decisions that directly affected students.   More and more the State Education departments have taken over local control, which means parental control also suffers.  The purpose of this blog is to help parents by untangling the every weaving, mist-like flow, of acronyms and jargon.  While many of these programs are well meaning and intentioned, most of them do more harm than good.   Agree with me?  Great!  Disagree with me?  That's fine too.  But lets be civil and use critical thinking to come at better soluti
